Lima Conference Style

I had the wonderful honor of attending the Pan American Ophthalmology conference in Peru last month and the absolute joy of traveling for a few days around that gorgeous country (and eating all the food!).  It was winter in Peru -- and I was going for a conference so I chose a few of my trusty faves that I wanted to share with you -- they were the essential 'looks as good at 7 am as 7pm' kind of dresses so I could easily transition from work (the conference) to fun (all those delicious dinners!)

A fave is the Babington Dress which I am wearing in rust red -- it is on sale and the sand grey check is tempting! The dress fit like a dream (i am in a UK6) and I did not have to tailor a thing (although you could shorten the hem if you wanted). This adorable little place in Lima is called Picanteria and they have the BEST fish menu in town (ceviche all day long).

Another Fold favorite is the Harvard Dress (also on sale and also available in red, but I chose grey). I love the neckline pleats. I am in a UK6 here too but the waist is SMALL! A size up would have been fine. This dress has long sleeves which you can't see because I am wearing my wear-every-day Stella & Jamie duster on top. The dress worked well at the conference (and kept me warm) and was perfect for sushi at the bar at Maido, Lima.

Finally, can't forget about Ted Baker anytime you're looking for a feminine but professional work dress. I am wearing a plain black sheath dress (with zipper in back and pattern on the inside!) but they re-did it this season with the zipper in front.  That day all the Pan American Women wore red shoes! cutie! Clearly, I was pretty excited to wear it to the conference and to Chez Wong where the chef (Mr. Wong) prepared a special plate of ceviche just for us! (My colleague and friend is also in Ted Baker - not planned but cute!)

Think of Peru for your next trip (or conference!) --  it was wonderful and I hope to have the privilege of visiting this lovely place again.
