#Trending Style

The USC Roski Eye Institute just held the #Trending Topics in Ophthalmology meeting at Terranea which is hands down my favorite SoCal resort. The conference was amazing. I spoke about my retinoblastoma research which was well received. I wore a The Fold London Pembroke dress in navy check (may be sold out but here is the navy edit for more ideas. The brand is impeccably tailored, professional and unique. The neckline on this dress is flattering but not flashy and the fit is fantastic. I like navy over black for presentations and photos because it is a little less harsh (at least with my coloring). I paired this pretty navy number with an (old) Armani rain coat, Camel-colored Mawdesley Burberry pumps, a camel colored Ted Baker bow belt (old, try this or search for a ferragamo vara belt on Tradesy or ebay) and an old classic Burberry check tote. My colleagues were well-adorned in Black Halo,  Aquazzura and Chiara Ferragni 'flirting' eye flats and looked every bit like the #girlbosses they are.

The second day I chose a deep green La Petite Robe by Chiara Boni dress. These dresses are so comfortable you could sleep in them, and also, they wouldn't wrinkle at all after your cat nap. I clearly found mine on a ridiculous sale last season -- but try a similar green or this (on sale) pretty patterned number (I can wear a 36 or 38 in this brand, the fabric stretches). Pink pearls from India complemented the green nicely and frankly, with views like this, anything goes.

The final day of my work-getaway was spent enjoying the gorgeous Terranea property by the fire, eating a never ending brunch (oh, the raw bar) at Catalina Kitchen, and just taking in this pretty place (all in an quilted camel leather Theory jacket-- this is old and impossible to find a new one like it -- but I do adore this quilted crimson jacket at a great price point and this steal from The RealReal while it lasts).

Can't wait to visit again! See you soon, Terranea.
