One of my fellow #girlboss fashionistas asked me about some of my favorite T's which has been a fun blog post for me! While I love structured dresses for work there is surely a time and a place (thankfully many times and many places) when jeans and a T is the best bet. It also gave me the opportunity to work on my flat lay shots (which are harder than they look!). So here are a few of my favorite t-shirt based outfits -- I hope they inspire your weekend worthy style.
The first is a super soft long sleeve scoop neck T from LA based Bella Luxx: try it here -- pair it with some distressed skinny ankle cut Joe's jeans (i love these right now), Sole Society Lyriq booties (on sale!) and a Rebecca Minkoff Moto 3 zip cross body (closest color -- best deal) -- for a look that is edgy and casual but cute and comfy too!
The second is a little more structured (typical of me). The T is from Majestic filatures in aubergine and can be paired with a matching (also sooo soft) blazer -- which I love -- but can't find online. Check back here if you really love it -- or try it in black. I liked adding some light blush tones to the darker aubergine with Ippolita jewelry, blush patent leather Aquazzura flats on sale at Net-a-porter and black Joe's jeans. The clutch/wallet is from LV and was a sweet Valentine's Day surprise a few years ago.
Finally, here are just a few of my faves, pulled right from the drawer:
Banana Republic has great cotton basics that go on really GREAT sales
American Apparel has great basics and the price point is always reasonable
Rag & Bone -- I'll never say no to their cotton tops -- when on sale (!)
and Alo Bella which is the Yoga and basics brands from Bella Luxx.
Whichever you choose, make sure the shirt fits well, you feel comfortable in it and here's a secret trick. If you don't wear t's because you feel like your skin bunches under them, get a Spanx or Assets by Spanx shapewear tank top and wear it underneath!
