A good skin and make-up routine helps you feel and look your best for any occasion. And while it may not be fair, research shows that just the right amount of makeup can actually affect the way you are perceived and your career (read more here) I like to keep my daily routine the same, more or less, but am more playful for special occasions.
On my face, most days I use Smooth Nude CC cream by Mirenesse. If I need extra cover I go with the Velvet Maxi Lift. (layer both for an event look or for all day wear). The beauty light concealer is soft and smooth and great for the lash margin under the eye.
Set your base with Clinique double powder which in my opinion is the absolute best pressed powder (and I always carry one in my purse for touch ups). If I need to, I use Stila set and correct to even the skin tone.
For cheeks I use (nearly every day) Nars Orgasm blush. If I want a little glow I add some highlight with Charlotte Tilbury's Filmstar Bronze and Glow. And if I want a more dramatic look I layer the powder blush over the Nars cream illuminator. I apply with Senna brushes -- another love of mine!
Eyes and lips can really change the look so play around to see what suits you! DiorShow is a great mascara line and the Nars Long Hot Summer shadow set is sparkly and fun. For work I generally only line my top lid and save the bottom for a smokier evening look. Either way Blinc does great liners that (literally) never smudge -- smudged liner is never great.
On lips, for work, I don't want to reapply every minute so I like long wear or stains. Try Mattfinity lip rouge or Stila lip stain -- I love this because it can also be worn on cheeks! Paula's choice is a great brand to know (with a stellar price point) and I use this gloss (with SPF) most days.
Finish with a light fragrance for work -- try one from Fresh!
