Fall jackets

Fall jackets

I am loving the (slightly) cooler early morning and evening in Los Angeles so that I can add light jackets, blazers and booties into my fall wardrobe. It isn't quite scarf weather, nor does it require the drastic wardrobe change my midwest and East Coast colleagues enjoy -- but is still a fun little addition. Here are a few of my faves this season!

Can't get enough of this cranberry hued jacket from Nordstrom's (their brand) which has such clean lines and as I've blogged about before, I love a minimalist lapel (or even better, no lapel) so it doesn't distract from earrings and get in the way of long hair.

I was gifted with this lovely taupe jacket by SW3 which has a gorgeous texture that you can see in the close up (with my gorgeous bestie). I like to use these warm taupe pieces to transition white jeans and pants to the richer fall tones. Adding an open toe toe bootie maintains the transitional look. These Chinese Laundry booties are an insane deal right now.

This painted leather cowl neck jacket from Stella and Jamie has been another wear-all-the-time favorite of mine right now. I wore it as a blazer to work here and its great with jeans and t's. Contact me if you're dying for this one or check out the new collection online. I love the warm olive knit dress (also from Stella and Jamie, the pilar dress) with this wine colored Stardust Suede Milla tote from Kate Spade at their last pop-up sale (may still be available in some stores)

I am the kind of girl that will support glitter and metallics and glitz in your wardrobe anytime -- but this sweet crop bomber jacket by Karen Zambos is so pretty I've worn it over a cocktail dress. Let it inspire to you to add some sparkle to your wardrobe -- try this one from Forever21

Let's not forget about a great blazer for Fall either.  This fringe detail on this deep canary Trina Turk Evie blazer is lovely against navy -- and tan heels keep the look neutral to warm. Trina has so many fun cotton blend and tweed blazers right now -- this La Brea is also super cute

A short trench works in spring and fall -- especially this soft pink one from Burberry. I like to make a cinched waist and tie over a loop with my trench. These super comfortable rose gold heels from Marion Parke (#girlboss podiatrist turned shoe designer) kept me on my feet all day long during the academy meeting in Chicago.

Light cashmere is perfect for fall. The Majestic Filatures Paris line is so soft and comfortable -- extra amazing if like me you can get it during a sample sale. I am in love with this blazer (similar here) and this moto jacket too! It's dressy enough for work and casual enough for mentoring (and sewing!) for Freedom and Fashion

Finally, wearing monochrome to vote in Dolce Vita booties, tights, DWP herringbone dress and the coziest Helmut Lang jacket ever.
